PRESS RELEASE - Florida Hospitals Honored with Excellence in Maternal Care Awards

07/1/2024

Tallahassee, Fla. – The Florida Hospital Association (FHA) proudly announces the distinguished recipients of the 2022 Excellence for Maternal Care Awards presented by the Florida Department of Health (DOH) and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Thirty-one outstanding Florida hospitals have demonstrated exceptional dedication to maternal health care, particularly in reducing C-section rates and improving maternal health care outcomes for mothers and newborns.

The Excellence for Maternal Care Awards highlight hospitals surpassing the Healthy People 2030 (HP2030) target goal of 23.6% for reducing C-sections for first-time mothers with low-risk pregnancies. By implementing evidence-based strategies, these hospitals reached a benchmark of excellence in improving patient outcomes. “We celebrate the Florida hospitals recognized for their unwavering dedication to reducing preventable C-sections and enhancing maternal health care for the well-being of moms and their babies. Florida hospitals have implemented innovative strategies to provide excellent care for Florida families,” said Mary C.
