Overview
Infection Prevention is important in the healthcare setting and over the past several years, hospitals have become more aware of the importance.  Standard infection prevention practices and precautions must be implemented by all members of the hospital team to successfully mitigate risk of infection at all times and for all hospitalized patients. This webinar will be led by nationally recognized infection prevention expert, Linda Greene, RN, MPS, CIC, FAPIC who will be reviewing the importance of infection prevention in clinical settings and the standard infection prevention practices and precautions for non-clinical team members. 

Please join FHA for this important educational program to learn more about your role as a non-clinical or clinical team member in preventing the risk of healthcare associated infections.   Recommendations and standards such as hand hygiene, patient placement, assessment for infection risk, care of the environment, management of linens, use of personal protective equipment and safe disposal of waste. This virtual event is part of the FHA Infection Prevention webinar series that provides hospital infection preventionists and team members with the latest information, evidence-based practice, and resources for eliminating hospital-acquired infections (HAI).

Objectives:

  • Understand your role in reducing the transmission of healthcare associated infections.
  • Discuss the increasing importance of environmental factors in the development of health care associated infections.
  • Learn what responsibilities and schedules are for cleaning each area to properly manage and care for the patient and health care staff environment.
  • Discuss best practices and standards for infection prevention precautions in the health care setting.
