Learn About Age Friendly Health Systems
With one in five Floridians being 65 years or older, the elderly make up the largest group of patients being served by Florida hospitals. Over the past couple of years, a movement to become "Age Friendly Health Systems" started, which involves adoption of strategies and practices that focus on core health issues for older adults. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is interested in developing measures specific to how hospitals are serving the geriatric population and are considering adopting an Age Friendly designation for hospitals across the county. Please join us on Monday, October 9, 2023, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm to learn about Age Friendly Health Systems and what it takes to be one. The American Hospital Association, who along with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, is leading efforts to support hospitals on their journeys to becoming age friendly will share more about Age Friendly and how they are helping hospitals through their AHA Action Community. Those attending will also hear from an Age Friendly Hospital to learn what they have done and the impact it has had on their patients, their workforce and their community.
Target Audience: CEOs, CNO, CMOs, Quality, Physician Services, Risk Management, Community Benefit, Population Health and Case Managers
