Health Information Management Services

Florida Hospital Association Management Corporation (FHAMC) employs experienced HIM Consultants and HIM Managers with at least three years of management experience in an acute care hospital setting. They must hold an AHIMA credential of Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or combination thereof; must maintain their AHIMA credentials throughout employment; and, must hold at least a Bachelor's degree. The FHAMC consultants and managers have the ability to work independently and have knowledge and expertise in management of HIM departments. In order to make their recommendations, FHAMC's experienced consultants will assess following:

  • Perform coding quality audits on the staff
  • Assess the coding workflow, production, edits and follow-up
  • Develop a coding productivity standard
  • Make recommendations regarding total number of coding FTEs necessary
  • Make recommendations for ongoing education
  • Make recommendations for coding compliance monitoring
  • Revenue Cycle and DNFB Management

FHAMC Interim Managers

  • Assess the position of the inpatient/outpatient QA manager
  • Analyze work flow and make adjustments where necessary
  • Write job descriptions, policies and procedures
  • Monitor coder quality and productivity
  • Inform coder where improvements are needed
  • Schedule and lead regular meetings between the CDI and inpatient coding teams
  • Provide support and assistance to the coding staff
