Statement From Florida Hospital Association President and CEO Mary Mayhew on the Florida Senate's Recommended Budget for Health Care

"As Florida recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, now is not the time to cut critical state funding to a vital safety net program and to the hundreds of thousands of doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who provide care to Medicaid patients. Our health care heroes risked their lives, and that of their families, to protect and care for us - they need our support now more than ever. The state will soon receive roughly $10 billion in new, unexpected federal COVID-19 relief funding. We are hopeful that lawmakers will use some of that money to ensure there are no cuts to our health care heroes and the hospitals in which these brave men and women serve."

Tomorrow at 2 pm (EDT), FHA President and CEO Mary Mayhew will be hosting a media call to answer questions related to the Senate and House's recommended budgets for health care. Please see the call-in information below.
