Responding to Florida's Maternal Opioid Crisis: Five Things Hospitals Can Do | Session 5: Closing Communication Gaps in the Circle of Care for Women with OUD in Pregnancy and Postpartum
Wednesday, July 22, 2020
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. ET | Webinar
Overview
The Florida Department of Health and the Florida Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review (PAMR) has issued an "Urgent Message to Providers and Hospitals" regarding Opioid Use During Pregnancy. Based on review of maternal deaths in Florida, drug-related conditions are now the leading cause deaths to mothers during pregnancy or within one year of delivery. Work in this area has identified five key strategies hospitals can adopt to respond to the opioid crisis.
The Florida Hospital Association (FHA), in collaboration with the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC), the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), are offering a series of five webinars to highlight what hospitals can do to address this crisis, providing actionable steps and examples on how to implement.
Our goal is to bring more awareness and understanding to hospitals on how to identify, treat and work together to best serve these mothers and babies.
- Session 1: Narcan - Reducing Risk for Overdose
- Session 2: Stigma - Impact on Treatment for Pregnant Women with OUD
