The Florida Hospital Association (FHA) is offering a two-day TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer class in Orlando on June 8-9, 2015. The faculty for this program are Jonathan Bae, M.D., assistant professor of medicine, associate medical director, hospital medicine, medical director for mortality and quality review, Duke University Health System; and Margaret H. Sturdivant, MSN, RN, CPPS, administrative director, Duke University Health System Patient Safety Office. Both instructors are TeamSTEPPS Master Trainers and have facilitated this program in many locations across the country.
This Master Trainer class is being provided so those attending the program can bring the TeamSTEPPS principles back to their hospitals. TeamSTEPPS tools and techniques support hospitals' work to improve teamwork and communication in all clinical areas including surgical services, intensive care units, emergency departments and obstetrics. Any clinical professionals who are interested in implementing the TeamSTEPPS tools at their hospital should attend. FHA member hospitals are encouraged to bring their teams that will be working on implementing TeamSTEPPS.
Registration is open to staff from FHA member hospitals and health systems. The registration fee of $195 includes two full days of instruction, all materials, CEUs and continental breakfast and lunch on both days. Register online. For questions about TeamSTEPPS or FHA's quality initiatives, contact Sally Forsberg, RN, Director of Quality and Patient Safety, at (407) 841-6230.
