Pediatric Preparedness Survey Scheduled for April

FHA has partnered with the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and other state agencies to assess Florida's public health, medical position and readiness. In April, FHA will administer the 2015 Hospital Pediatric Emergency Preparedness Survey to all acute care hospitals with emergency departments in the state of Florida. This survey focuses on measuring the capability and capacity to provide adequate pediatric evaluation and care in events that severely challenge or exceed the normal medical infrastructure of an affected community. The information measured is crucial to determine funding priorities, current pediatric surge capacity and capability, identify pediatric preparedness gaps, develop potential funding needs, and create planning targets for the local, regional, and state perspective.
