HHS Publishes Annual Update of Poverty Guidelines

The January 22 Federal Register contained notice of an update to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) poverty guidelines to account for last calendar year's increase in prices as measured by the Consumer Price Index. The updated guidelines are effective with publication. The annual incomes identified in the notice for the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia are as follows:
