Health Care Coverage and the Affordable Care Act

Since the ACA's implementation, Florida has led the nation with more than 1.7 million people enrolled in the
private insurance marketplace in 2016. With 2.5 million uninsured people in Florida, the state ranks second only to Texas in the number of people who could be eligible for future Medicaid expansion. According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, if the Affordable Care Act is repealed without a replacement, 2.2 million Floridians stand to lose coverage by 2019.
